Travel Journal: July 15, 2013

Felpham, UK

Saturday: We went to dinner at Anna's acupuncturist's house.  Charlotte said it was "fancy, like a rich person's house."

Sunday: We went for a swim on Felpham Beach, and it was perfect.  No waves, clear as glass.  Walking on rocks, though, is not so good.  Fortunately, Charlotte and I got beach shoes, so that helped.  Then we had a proper Sunday roast lunch with Anna's mother, Wendy, who is just lovely.  We ate in the garden, which was really beautiful. We're lucky to have had such warm, sunny weather--apparently, it's very unusual.

Afterward, we walked on the beachfront walkway, or prom, into Bognor Regis.  (Bognor Regis is the Myrtle Beach to Felpham's Holden.) Charlotte got to bounce on a bouncy castle and ride the bumper boats.  She mostly pouted and did doughnuts on the boats because she was mad that she didn't get the super-squirty one.

Today has been low-key. We went to Alex's baby music class, walked by William Blake's house (!), and went home via the prom.  After lunch at Anna's, I took Charlotte down to the beach, where she loves to collect rocks.  Now we're resting a little before we go to the Felpham Fun Fair--half-price rides today!  Woot!
